Heart attack in the UK

To reduce the chances of getting heart disease
cut down on the three following culprits in your diet:

1

Fats

Increases LDL 'bad' Cholesterol

Small amounts of fats in our diets are vital, but saturated and trans fats heighten the risk of heart disease.

2

Salt

Increases Blood Pressure

Limit the amount of salt you eat to no more than 6g (0.2oz) a day. Too much salt can raise your blood pressure and increases your chances of developing coronary heart disease.

3

Calories

Increases Chances of Obesity

Consistently consuming more calories than you need can lead to you becoming overweight. This can lead to increased LDL 'bad' cholesterol, higher blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
